Natural ingredients on hand in your kitchen can be as effective as fancy moisturizers and scrubs, sometimes even more so. The homemade remedies are usually harmless to skin and easy to find.
So here are some of the simple skin care techniques, all homemade and can be easily done, they are excellent ways to help you achieve that flawless glowing skin.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a very effective skin healer. It helps make the skin smooth, reduce blemishes, wrinkles and fine lines. One of the foremost wonderful aloe vera edges is that it will heal even dangerous cases of sunburn. It is a potent antioxidant heals sunburn faster. Aloe Vera naturally contains vitamin C, beta carotenes and vitamin E which makes skin firm and hydrated. It helps to restore the natural color of your skin if it has been tanned. To reverse the effects of tan, mix a couple of drops of lemon in aloe vera gel and apply it on the problem area. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then wash it off with plain water.

Fresh Fruits

Banana Face Mask

Mash fresh fruits well and apply directly on your skin. Allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off. It will give your skin a fresh glow. Apply mashed banana as a mask for twenty minutes. Rinse off thereafter. Banana is rich in skin-friendly vitamins like vitamin A, B, C and E and minerals such as potassium that nourishes the skin, make the skin soft and reduce blemishes. For an instant radiant and soft skin, squeeze the orange juice and add two tablespoons of rose water. Apply it all over your face and leave it for 15 minutes and wash it off with plain water.

Oat meals

Oatmeal can soak up the excess oil on your skin and helps treat acne. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory property helps to treat dry skin and remove dead skin cells. Oats are loaded with compounds called saponins, which are natural cleansers. They remove the dirt and oil that clog the pores and exfoliate the skin. Oatmeal and cinnamon face mask promotes cell growth as it is rich in antioxidants. Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and dry oatmeal. Mix them in conjunction with milk to create a paste and gently apply it everywhere on your face. Keep it for 15 minutes and then rinse with plain water and get ready to flaunt your face glow.

Lemon juice

Mix one part of lemon juice, one part rose water and four parts chilled water. Spray it on your face regularly. It will keep your skin fresh and cool. Sugar is a good exfoliator and lemon can be used to brighten the skin. Mix a lemon juice with sugar to make a paste. Scrub it over your face in a circular motion and leave it for 15-20 minutes and rinse it with warm water. To lighten marks of scar, rub half of a lemon on the scar directly. If it irritates your skin, then mix some cucumber juice and apply it on the scar and then wash it off.

Milk and honey

Honey and tin can do wonders in delivering out a perfect glow. Add a teaspoon of honey and two teaspoons of milk to a teaspoon of gram flour to make a paste. Apply it all over your face, leave it for 15 minutes and wash it off with warm water to nourish your skin.

Use milk and curd while bathing

For dry skin, nothing works better than curd. This can be applied to your face as well. You can use it, whereas bathing once every week. You can also use gram flour with curd for dry skin. This will bleach and clean your skin. For oily skin, use wheat flour with milk. Apply it on your face and rub it on your face for 15 minutes in a circular motion and then rinse it off for a naturally glowing skin. This also helps to remove the unwanted facial hair.

Rose water or Rose essential oil

Rose water and rose essential oil are one of the best toners available out there, which is suitable for all skin types. So, for homemade toner, store rose water in a spray bottle and add 4-5 drops of rose essential oil and use it twice a day. It would help to soothe and calm the skin, balance pH levels and help repair the skin elasticity.

Potato

Potato

Take a slice of soaked potato and rub on your face and neck for 5 minutes. Rinse thereafter. Potato helps in toning and smoothing the skin. Raw potato juice is an excellent remedy for marks and scars on your skin. Fine mash the potato and apply on your face as a pack and rinse after a few minutes with lukewarm water. Potato is excellent for treating under eye dark circles as well. Cut thin slices of potato and keep on your eyes for a few minutes. Regular use of this will give you a glowing skin.

Multani mitti / Fuller’s Earth

Multani mitti is the main element in major face packs. It is being used for treating several skin problems and getting clear skin free from blemishes, age spots, scars and acne. Its active elements absorb impurities like oil, sweat from face and leave it looking soft, supple and youthful. Mix two tablespoons of multani mitti with a half teaspoon of sandalwood powder and two teaspoons of chilled rose water. Apply even on your face and neck and leave it on till the mask dries. Rinse off with cool water and find your skin refreshed and clean.

Baking Soda

Baking Soda

Apply a mixture of baking soda and extra virgin olive oil to the face and neck for 15 minutes. Rinse off thereafter. Baking soda is good for exfoliating the skin. It’s alkaline nature and anti-inflammatory properties also helps to stabilize the skin’s pH.
